Grimshaw Gravels Aquifer - Volunteers Needed!
July 24 2025The Grimshaw Gravels Aquifer Management Advisory Association and the Mighty Peace Watershed Alliance continue to work on safe guarding our drinking water within the Grimshaw Gravels Aquifer. We are looking for volunteers to allow us to deploy a well level logger in their water well.
If you live above the aquifer (see map) and are interested, please contact Adam Norris at coordinator@mpwa.ca or 780-552-4354. This will help us understand how much water there is in the aquifer and ensure that we don’t overdraw it.
Another thing that we are working on is addressing the danger posed by abandoned water wells. We are sharing a great factsheet on how to deal with abandoned water wells. If you have questions or need help in plugging water wells, please contact us and we will do what we can to help.
