Garbage & Recycling

Curbside Garbage Collection 

The Municipal District of Fairview No. 136 offers curbside garbage collection to residents of the Hamlets of Bluesky and Whitelaw. Each household has been assigned one residential bin. If you do not currently have a residential bin, please contact the Municipal Administration officer by telephone at 780-835-4903 or by email to arrange delivery. 

Garbage is collected by Prairie Disposal weekly on Tuesday including statutory holidays, except for December 25 and January 1, unless otherwise notified by Prairie Disposal Ltd. Please ensure that your garbage at the curb by 7:00 AM or you are at risk of missing collection. Your garbage may not be collected at the same time every week as unforeseen circumstances may delay or speed up collection.

North Peace Regional Landfill

All Municipal District of Fairview No. 136 residents may dispose of garbage at the North Peace Regional Landfill located at SW-27-82-03-W6 in the Municipal District of Fairview No. 136.

Recycling 

The Municipal District of Fairview No. 136 does not offer curbside recycling. Recycle Bins are provided by Prairie Disposal at the following locations within the Municipality: 

• Hamlet of Bluesky: 1st Avenue
• Hamlet of Whitelaw: South Avenue 
• North Peace Regional Landfill 

Recycling bins are also provided by Prairie Disposal at the Municipal Administration Office located at 10957 - 91 Avenue in the Town of Fairview. 

Spring Clean-Up 

Once per year in the Spring, the Municipal District of Fairview No. 136 offers a Spring Clean-Up Program to the residents of the Hamlets of Bluesky and Whitelaw. During the Spring Clean-Up, curbside collection of appliances and electronics is offered by the Municipality and large dumpsters are made available at designated locations. 

More information will be made available about the annual Spring Clean-up Program once it has been scheduled.
