NOTICE – PAYMENT OPTIONS
Payment Options
To limit contact we encourage you to remit any payments as follows:
- In person – cheques may be dropped into our drop box at the Municipal Office, 10957 – 91 Avenue, Fairview – please indicate your MD account number on the cheque.
- By mail – cheques payable to Municipal District of Fairview No. 136 may be mailed to PO Box 189 Fairview, AB T0H 1L0. Please indicate your MD account number on your cheque. Do not mail cash.
- Online Banking – if you are not currently set up for online banking, please contact your bank or local branch for assistance. Please visit our website for bank specific vendor information (http://www.mdfairview.com/finance.aspx).
- Credit card – Visa and Mastercard payments can be made by clicking the “OptionPay” link on our website (http://www.mdfairview.com). Note that fees for this service are the responsibility of the ratepayer, not the Municipality.
- In-Branch - If your bank branch is available, you may continue to make payments in person at your branch.

Pay In-branch, Online, or Telephone Banking
You can pay your utilities, accounts receivable invoices, and taxes at most financial institutions in branch, online, or via telephone banking.
Online: When setting up a payee, search for the correct vendor name as shown below and use your utility account number, receivables account number, customer number or tax roll as the account number.

In Person: Payments can be made at our office at 10957 – 91 Avenue in Fairview (Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. We are closed Noon to 1:00 P.M. and closed on Statutory holidays).
Credit Card: Visa and Mastercard payments are accepted in person or online through the MD website (go to www.mdfairview.com and click the OptionPay link). The fee to use OptionPay is calculated automatically according to a tiered fee schedule and added to the amount you are paying to the municipality (fees for using a credit card for payments are now the responsibility of the payer, not the Municipality).
NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT ROLL PREPARATION AND
PROPERTY TAX LEVY 2020
The Municipal District of Fairview No. 136

Property owners within the Municipal District of Fairview No. 136, take notice that property taxes for the taxation year 2020 have been levied to your property. Combined Assessment and Tax Notices were mailed on June 17, 2020.
Please note that notices were mailed to property owners as registered at Alberta Land Titles Office as of June 15, 2020. If you became an owner after that date, it is your responsibility to obtain a copy of the Combined Assessment and Tax Notice. Copies may be obtained by contacting the municipal office.
Property tax payments are due on July 31, 2020. For 2020 only, penalties will not be applied to unpaid taxes prior to October 31, 2020. On November 1, 2020, a 1% penalty will be applied monthly to any outstanding balances.
Failure to receive a tax notice is not a reason for non-payment of taxes. In the event of non-payment, taxes may be recovered as provided in the Municipal Government Act.

Assessment Review Board
A Local Assessment Review Board will hear complaints about residential property with 3 or less dwelling units, farm land, or matters shown on a tax notice (other than a property tax notice). Click here for an Assessment Review Board Complaint Form.
